Permeameter

Reliable prediction of in-situ soil permeability is important in the design of irrigation projects to avoid overland flow, offsite movement of irrigation water, erosion and impacts on aquatic ecosystems.

Consitent and dependable assessment of in-situ permeability is problematic and rarely undertaken.

Verterra utilises a combination of permeability assessment approaches:

  • Ring permameters for surface soils; and
  • Guelph permeameter for sub-soils.

This proves an efficient means to rapidly obtain replicate measurements and provide a statistically defined level of confidence in permeability values.

Guelph permeameters

Verterra's equipment for service delivery includes a Model 2800K1 Guelph permeameter.
