Potential for developing biomass energy feedstocks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
Advice on the potential for developing biomass energy feedstocks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Identification of opportunities for beneficial rehabilitation of mined land, and more efficient utilisation of surrounding buffer lands. The project included data analysis of biomass production trials, detailed financial modelling of a range of carbon offset options and scenarios, evaluation of management requirements, required estate size and land availability to support target levels of biomass energy production.
Benefit to Client:
The project provided the client the information required to evaluate the feasibility of developing a biomass feedstock estate for renewable energy generation.
