  • Challenge:

    Santos required an irrigation solution for management of treated and amended coal seam gas (CSG) water that provided a constructive means to engage with rural landholders. 

  • Solution:

    In assertion with developing an irrigated forest solution, Verterra also assisted Santos develop approaches to irrigation of the high protein fodder crop, Leucaena on Santos’s own land prior to implantation in association with rural landholders within areas covered by Santos’s Petroleum Leases. 

  • Benefit to Client:

    The project delivered the target areas of irrigated forest and fodder plantations and associated irrigation systems, water treatment plant and water storage dam on time and on-budget, allowing the client to manage associated water from coal seam gas operations and, in turn, enable gas production and associated revenues from gas sales.
