    Development of a theoretical framework for design of roadside plantings necessary to sufficiently lower watertables beneath the road surface to provide pavement protection, and design and implementation of trials to test hypothesis.

    This project provided the client with a pilot for validation of the capacity for strategic roadside tree plantings to draw down water tables and substantially reduce road maintenance costs due to salinity and water logging of the road base.
